The Lane Institute of Faith & Education (LIFE) will host its 6th
annual Interfaith Community Breakfast on International Peace Day,
September 22nd. In his talk entitled "Dharma and Karma," University of Oregon
President Richard Lariviere, a Sanskrit scholar, will address the
relationship of these two ancient and fundamental Indian concepts to
the challenges confronting us today.

Since 2000, LIFE has provided interfaith opportunities to examine
different religious and spiritual traditions, philosophies, and
values. LIFE, a part of Lane Interfaith Alliance, seeks to foster
dialog and the deepening of understanding rather than indoctrination
to a particular viewpoint.

This year's breakfast will take place on International Peace Day.

The five previous Interfaith Community Breakfasts were held on
September 11th, in response to the 2001 World Trade Center tragedy,
for the purpose of building understanding and cooperation among people
of diverse backgrounds.

The event will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Eugene. Tickets are also
available at First Christian Church (1166 Oak Street, Eugene) and at
